John at work – Overnight Laundry

Hello, I’m John. My history with laundry dates back to high school. Around 1984 I worked the midnight shift at a local nursing home washing clothes for the residents. I loved that job. The residents were sweet, kind, and shared lots of interesting stories. While in college, I operated a community laundrmat. I had many incredible, warm, and loyal customers. I loved it, but after graduation I had to move to find work and the best option was to let a new owner take over. I taught middle school for many years but when the pandemic hit I knew it was time to move on. I bought five used washers and dryers, a few stainless steel tables and returned to what I love best: doing laundry.

I wash personal laundry, work clothes, and scrubs. But the vast majority of my laundry customers own an AirBNB, VRBO, or vacation rental property. I take considerable pride in every load of laundry. And, as a retired science teacher I am fascinated by the science behind laundry. I am constantly learning something new and I thought this would be a great place to share what I have learned.

I have no formal background in blogging or editing videos so if you have a suggestion about how I can improve, by all means, speak up. I respond well to constuctive criticism and love to learn anything new.

As with most all blogs, I earn a small commission if you follow one of the links in my articles.
